Skoda is gearing up for the launch of the all-new Fabia supermini, with production scheduled to begin from the end of August in Mladá Boleslav.
During the factory holidays between August 4 and 15, preparations will be well underway for the start-up of the new Fabia. Extensive maintenance and modernization projects will also be carried out at the other Czech plants in Kvasiny and Vrchlabí.
“We will be using the non-production days to further optimize production and so be more able to respond to the increasing consumer demand for our models,” said Michael Oeljeklaus, Skoda Board Member for Production and Logistics. “Above all, we shall be preparing Mladá Boleslav for the launch of the next Fabia generation. We are right on schedule to start the production of our newest model on time and to the highest quality.”
Preparations include the addition of a new facility for the adjustment of assistance systems in the M1 assembly hall, the renewal of the conveyor system on the ending part of assembly line and the modernization and expansion of paint shop facilities.
Maintenance and optimization work will also be carried out on the Skoda Octavia production line in Hall M13. The speed conveyor system will be increased and the facility for filling the brake systems modernized.
The number one focus at the Kvasiny plant during the factory holidays will be the completion of the new hall for car body production, while the production of the DQ 200 gearbox at Vrchlabí will be undergoing regular maintenance work. The world premiere of the new Skoda Fabia will take place at the Paris Auto Show this autumn.
