Mitsubishi is brewing a nip-and-tuck for the Outlander, which will likely coincide with the delayed U.S. launch of the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version in late 2015 or early 2016.
The car seen here in our spy shots testing on German roads was heavily covered in cladding on both ends, so that’s where we suspect most of the cosmetic changes will take place on the outside.
We can’t make out any specific details, but there’s a good possibility that Mitsubishi will borrow some design elements from its three most recent crossover / SUV concept studies, including the GC-PHEV, XR-PHEV and AR, which were shown in Tokyo last year.
The facelift may also include some revisions to the interior and the SUV’s hardware.
