The Lexus IS F has been proof that the brand best-known for building quiet, comfortable sedans with impeccable panel fits could also make a totally bonkers M3-fighter.
However, after seven years, the last IS F has left the factory.
According to Lexus Enthusiast, Lexus chief engineer Yukihiko Yaguchi posted to Facebook that the last IS F sedan rolled off the Tahara assembly line on July 25.
Powered by a 5.0-liter V8, the IS F sedan was unlike anything Lexus had done up until its 2008 launch. While not exactly the M3 killer they hoped for, it was a good starting point. And it had stacked quad exhaust tips, which are just cool.
The performance torch at Lexus will be carried on by the 2015 RC F coupe that was shown in January at the Detroit Auto Show. That too will have a 5.0-liter V8. But as of now, plans for another IS F are uncertain.
