VW is brewing up a replacement for the Tiguan with a new report saying that it will be bigger and more stylish.
While we know not to expect VW to produce a pretty car in the true sense of the word, since it would go against their philosophy of uniformity, we learn from the brand’s Aussie managing director, John White, via CarAdvice, that the upcoming Tiguan crossover will be a game changer.
Apparently, its styling is very different and much more aggressive than before, and, well, looking at the current incarnation, it darned well better be…
The current Tiguan isn’t bad, but you wonder what it was that made it so popular – oh yeah, the badge and the raised driving position, as well as the driving experience reminiscent of a (much superior fifth-generation) Golf (on which it’s based).
Styling aside, the next Tiguan will also be a bigger vehicle altogether – it’s longer, has more boot space and it seems that even a three-row variant is feasible.
The model is due sometime in 2016; expect it to be previewed by a near-production concept, like the Golf SV, which has a good change of debuting in Paris next month, since, according to White, it was already visually ready back in March of this year.
