After making its world premiere at New York Auto Show in April as the 2015 Jetta, VW’s revised sedan is now available for order in the UK priced from £18,815 OTR. However, first customer deliveries aren’t expected before December.
Cosmetic revisions can be found on both ends of the C-segment saloon, including reprofiled bumpers, tweaked front grille, optional Bi-Xenon headlights with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), new taillights and a redesigned boot lid that incorporates a spoiler lip.
You’ll have to take VW’s word for it, but the Germans claim that these changes offer an overall improvement in aerodynamics of 10 percent over the pre-facelift model.
Interior enhancements include revised instrument gauges, new steering wheel, fresh trims around the center console and different fabric designs for the seats and door trims. The GT edition also gets new ambient lighting, while VW has added new optional assistance systems, such as Blind Spot Detection with Rear Traffic Alert.
On the powertrain front, all Jetta engines are EU6 compliant and come with BlueMotion tech that includes stop/start and battery energy recuperation.
The range for the UK comprises of two petrol units, a 123bhp (125PS) 1.4-liter TSI connected to a 6sp manual and a 148bhp (150PS 2.0-liter TSI with a 6sp manual or a 7sp DSG, and two diesels, the 108bhp (110PS) 2.0-liter TDI paired to a 6sp manual or a 7sp DSG, and the 148bhp (150PS) 2.0-liter TDI and either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed DSG.
Finally, there are three available trim grades, S, SE and GT, with standard equipment across the range including DAB digital radio, ESC electronic stability control, electric windows and air conditioning.
