Marchettino is a YouTube user known mainly for his videos of Ferraris and other supercars caught off-guard by his HD lenses in different parts of the world. The Fiorano circuit is a good place where one could find the Italian car-spotter on a given day.
The following video is shot in Germany, though, on the famed Green Hell, while the spotlight is on a more budget sports car – none other than Marchettino’s own Abarth 500.
In short, the Italian car-spotter fixed a GoPro camera on his helmet and then proceeded to do a Bridge to Gantry (BTG) lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife as fast as he could during a Touristfahren event.
His weapon of choice? A bright blue Abarth 500, otherwise known as the Marchettinomobile, and the resulting lap time – well, not technically an entire lap – is a highly respectable 8:55 minutes.
Not too shabby, considering that the Abarth 500 is not exactly a super sports car, while Marchettino is probably better at shooting videos than at driving as fast as a professional driver that is well accustomed to the treacherous Nordschleife.
Apart from the time, it is the first person view that really takes the cake, as it essentially puts the viewer in the driver’s shoes for the entire portion of the Green Hell attack.
