In case you were wondering, the highest number of electric vehicles to take part in a parade is now 507. The record was set in Cupertino, California this past weekend when lots of Nissan Leafs, Fiat 500es, Ford Focus Electrics and the Model S from Tesla, among others, filled a decent sized parking lot, before setting out in a procession through town – no hybrids were allowed, not even plug-ins.

The previous record was quite fresh, actually. It had been set in Stuttgart, Germany when 481 electrics got together and did pretty much the same thing.

It’s not a huge number, really, but with the number of EVs on the road rising constantly, the record can and will be beaten quite easily.
