This is our second encounter with BMW’s mysterious M4 coupe prototype with the track-car looks, now captured in its natural habitat, the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
It’s the same tester we scooped on the road, complete with the MotoGP Safety Car stickers and the camouflaged front lip spoiler and rear wing.
The appearance of the car has led us to believe that BMW may be working on a GTS-like hardcore edition of the M4 coupe with more spoilers, more oomph and less weight, possibly stemming from the removal of the rear seat and other amenities.
However, that would contradict a statement made by Matt Collins, product manager for BMW’s small to medium cars, who said earlier in the year that the firm has “no plans on a CSL. Or anything like a CSL either“.
Of course, we’ve heard denials like that in the past only to see them overturned later on, so we wouldn’t rule out the possibility just yet.
