As previously announced, the Cadillac ATS Coupe will launch in Europe in October and will be the first model sold there to ditch the laurel wreath.

The two-door will arrive on European markets with the upgraded 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 272hp (276PS) and 400Nm (295lb-ft) of torque. Offering nearly 14 percent more torque than the ATS sedan, the engine allows the ATS Coupe to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.8 seconds.

With a specific output of 138 hp/liter, the 2.0-liter turbo unit is one of the most power-dense engines in its segment. It delivers 90 percent of its peak torque from 2,100 to 3,000 rpm and hits the maximum at 3,000 rpm, maintaining it through 4,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with magnesium tap-shift control. An all-wheel drive system is offered as an option. Weighing in at 1,602 kg (3,532 lbs), the ATS Coupe has a weight/power ratio of 5.8 kg/hp.

The ATS Coupe will be offered in Europe with standard bi-xenon headlamps with Adaptive Forward Lighting, vertical LED signature lights, LED taillights and rear-center brake lamp.

Inside, gadgets include Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity with natural voice recognition, text-to-voice that converts incoming text messages to speech and reads them over the audio system speakers, USB, auxiliary and SD memory card ports, reconfigurable 5.7-inch three-window instrument panel cluster display and full-color reconfigurable heads-up display.

Cadillac’s ATS Coupe also gets the latest version of the CUE infotainment system, which features an 8-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) multi-touch sensitive screen integrated into the top of the central instrument panel. The model also gets wireless charging, with users being able to charge their compatible smartphones by simply placing the device on the Powermat rubberized mat.

A Bose audio system with Active Noise Cancelation technology is standard on all models. Available safety features include Safety Alert Seat, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition, among others.
