You have to watch this unbelievable scene to appreciate just how lucky drag racer Kelly Harvey was when his 1955 Chevrolet rolled over and he was jammed halfway through the windshield.
Harvey, who was drag racing against a classic Chevy Camaro at the Colorado Street Outlaws Drag Racing Event at the Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colorado, on Saturday, lost control and rolled over at least half a dozen times before the car came to a stop.
It is at that point that we see Harvey’s legs sticking out of the windshield and just as everyone is thinking the worst, he climbs in and exits the car all by himself!
The Colorado Street Outlaws said Harvey’s seat belts did not function right.
“My seat belts were not mounted properly and pulled through the floor of the car,” Harvey said in a statement. “I’m grateful to the staff and safety crew at PPIR for such a rapid response to my situation.”
