The Panoz Esperante has been in (limited series) production for nearly 15 years, with steady incremental improvements made to it over the years.
It’s not what you’d call the most competitive V8-powered sports car, but it’s certainly unique, rare and it was built on racing knowledge; from some angles, it almost looks Italian.
Now, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the company that builds it, Panoz has released details of a special edition model based on the Esperante Spyder model – a new body style that debuts along with it.
Production of the 25th Anniversary Edition model will be limited to 25 units, all of which will feature updates to set them apat from lesser models.
Power options are either a 430 hp V8 or a supercharged version of the same motor, putting out 560 hp, though even more can be extracted if clients are interested.
Pricing will kick off at $179,120, though it’s not the most expensive limited edition model that they’re offering – the other is the Spyder GT, a more track-oriented Esperante which, according to the official press release, “features a wide body version with flared carbon fiber fenders and rocker panels with an optional clear-coated carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser.”
