Ask any self-respecting motorsport aficionado about the current state of Formula One, and if he or she is not the kind to easily give in to the (massively endorsed) propaganda around the discipline, the impression will be consistently the same.
Most of the time, it’s utterly boring and overly reliant on tactics, not the kind of close dogfighting action that we’d like to see.
However, it’s not always the case, and there is the occasional exciting race, like particularly this season’s Italian GP, which took place this weekend around the Monza track. The highlight of the race was Daniel Ricciardo’s superb maneuver to pass Sebastien Vettel, illustrated via the video posted below.
It’s a perfectly executed dummy move, kind of like when Ronaldinho used to move the ball slightly in one direction, then shoot off sprinting in the other, leaving the defender for dead. This is basically what happened here, but with a different kind of balls involved…
