The Mazda MX-5/Miata is the quintessential light British roadster, but that’s not to say it would not be equally good (or better) as a hardtop. We’re not talking about those fiberglass tops that bolt onto the car or a folding hardtop, but an actual one-piece coupe bodyshell from the manufacturer.
No word on that from any official source, though, so it’s nice that we can kind of see what the new MX-5 would be like in that guise.
This rendering could have fooled us it was the real thing, had it been presented in a leaked/unknown source context and no Teophiluschin watermark on the door.
There’s really nothing bad to say about it, really, and it would obviously also bring with it all the advantages fixed-top cars have over their open-top counterparts.
