Mercedes-Benz has let loose information and photos of its new C63 AMG sports saloon on its German site.
Following the lead of the E63 AMG, the smaller C63 AMG will offer two editions, both powered by a new 4.0-liter bi-turbocharged V8 that delivers 476PS (470hp) and 650Nm (479 lb-ft) in the base model and 510PS (503hp) and 700Nm (516 lb-ft) in the C63s. This is the same engine found on the Mercedes-AMG GT sports coupe.
Both models get a seven-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission driving the rear wheels, with the C63 hitting 100km/h (62mph) in 4.2 seconds and the C63s in 4.1 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250km/h (155mph) in either version.
The “S” also gets a host of additional extras, including 19-inch alloy wheels, red calipers for the composite brake system, an electronic locking rear differential, AMG’s dynamic engine mounts and Ride Control suspension with variable dampers – just to mention a few.
We should see the new C63 AMG at the Paris auto show next week.
