The new BMW M3 looks pretty brisk for a car with just 425 hp in hitting its specified benchmark sprint time of 3.9 seconds, in twin-clutch guise and according to this video (BMW says it does it in 4.1 sec).
It has no trouble reaching far greater speeds really quickly, either; we can only imagine, then, what one would be like with the same mods that this 513 hp M4 has.
In this video, shot on a German autobahn, a bone-stock M3 shows the ease with which it accelerates, confirming the manufacturer’s claimed time. It’s not dramatic or particularly spectacular (probably partly due to the uninspiring noise it makes), but there’s no denying it hits 270 km/h or 169 mph with frightening ease.
Even if it’s faster, lighter and more efficient, the E90/E92 M3 is still worthy of consideration, especially since now that the new one is out, second hand prices should start to go down.
