Three suspects have been booked in jail and several cars recovered after a string of Bay Area car thefts from car dealerships, including 16 vehicles from Silicon Valley Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
According to SFGate, a 24-year-old man from Oakland was arrested Wednesday after highway patrol officers recovered a Mercedes ML350 that was stolen from a Mercedes dealership in Belmont, Calif. The SUV was one of eight vehicles stolen from that dealership four days prior.
But law enforcement is still searching for eight vehicles stolen from another Mercedes dealership in San Jose, Calif., thought to be part of the same ring of thefts. Two other Oakland men, 19 and 18 years old, were taken into custody Sunday.
Seven other vehicles were stolen from used car dealerships in San Jose over a few nights in August, and police are investigating those burglaries.
