It doesn’t look like much at a first glance, but this VW Golf IV R32 by Germany’s HPerformance delivers up to 650PS (641hp) or the same as a McLaren 650S!
Evidently, getting a stock Golf R32 with a 241PS (238hp) 3.2-liter V6 to deliver more than two and a half times the output takes a lot of effort.
HPerformance’s mods include a new crankshaft mounted on a reduced capacity engine of 3.0-liters aided by a new Precision-PT6235 turbocharger, the characteristics of which can be adjusted with the help of fully customizable electronic “Boost-Controller”, thus allowing the V6 to produce from 500 to 650PS (493hp to 641hp).
The heated up hatch also gets a flap-controlled exhaust system, new beefier brakes, adjustable shock absorber from Bilstein combined with H&R stabilizers, new wheels and tires, while dropping the rear seat bench and gaining a pair of Recaro sport seats up front.
HPerformance said the modifications cost €20,000 (US$25,800).
