Is there a sector of the automotive market more hotly contested at the moment than that of small crossovers?
Probably not and it doesn’t look ready to die down any time soon, so the manufacturers which have so far not subscribed to the current still have time to do so.
SEAT still doesn’t have its first SUV on sale, though it is coming fairly soon, and we already have rumors that they will be looking to add a second, smaller high-rider to follow it. Autocar tells us that not only is SEAT looking upmarket but that it’s also interested in adding a B-segment crossover too.
The news was obtained on the sidelines of the Paris autoshow from SEAT boss Jurgen Stackmann – he confirmed the “embryonic existence” of the model…
The C-segment crossover is set to make its debut in 2016, so this more petit one will probably have to wait at least another year to arrive, if it gets the go-ahead, that is.
