In recent years, Aston Martin’s presence at motor shows has been quite a repetitive exercise, as the company has been unable to launch new models without the backing of a major automaker.
Before the first results of its partnership with Daimler AG emerge, Aston Martin is forced to release new versions of existing models. It’s the same old story this year, with the British sports car manufacturer’s biggest news being the world debut of the Vanquish Carbon Black special edition and the European debut of the V12 Vantage S Roadster.
The V12 Vantage S Roadster is Aston Martin’s most potent, quickest and fastest-accelerating series production convertible yet. Equipped with the 565 hp (573 PS) Aston Martin AM28 6.0-liter V12 engine, the car is capable of reaching 201 mph (323 km/h) and sprinting from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds.
The V12 Vantage S Roadster displayed in Paris also showcases a number of bespoke styling additions by the brand’s personalization program Q by Aston Martin, including a Diavolo Red exterior paint color, a full carbon fiber center stack, saddle leather detailing and Q by Aston Martin badges.
Aston’s other significant exhibit is the Vanquish Carbon Black special edition which features a strong dark theme, underpinned by a combination of lightweight carbon fiber as standard. The Vanquish is also available with a Carbon White special edition, which features a Stratus White paint and the same carbon fiber elements.
Aston’s booth also includes the 2015 MY Vanquish and Rapide S, as well as Vantage N430.
