We didn’t see it at the ongoing Paris Auto Show, but according to the latest reports, the new Audi Q7 isn’t far away as it will be revealed in Detroit this January.
During the VW Group night on the eve of the Paris show last week, Indian Autos Blog asked Audi development chief Ulrich Hackenberg when we should expect the new Q7 to which he answered, “If you make a trip to Detroit, you’ll see it”.
The second generation Q7 will shed a lot of weight over its predecessor, reportedly up to 350kg or 770 pounds, partly thanks to the new MLB platform that will be made from steel and aluminum components.
It will have a sleeker appearance even though it will continue to offer three rows of seats for seven passengers measuring over 5 meters in length.
The engine lineup will mirror that of the current model with an assortment of diesel and petrol units, along with the addition of a new e-tron plug-in hybrid variant.
