BMW M GmbH has released a limited series M4 DTM Champion Edition to honor Marco Wittmann’s title in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) this year.

The BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition comes with a dedicated paint scheme that reminds of Wittmann’s DTM car. Offered exclusively in Alpine White, the BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition will be built in a limited series of just 23 units, a reference to Wittmann’s racing number.

Built at the BMW Individual Manufactory in Garching, the M4 DTM Champion Edition also features matt black bonnet and boot lid with a stripe design that go together well with the standard CFRP roof, as does the black character line along the car’s flanks.

Other changes are the M kidney grille with orange surround, an M logo rearwards of the front wheel arches, the number 23 on the doors and Germany’s flag along with “WIT” and “DTM Champion 2014” lettering on the rear side windows. The car rides on 19-inch light-alloy wheels and also comes equipped with a black front splitter, black side skirt blade, carbon front flaps, carbon mirror caps, a rear spoiler and a carbon diffuser insert from the M Performance Parts range.

Inside, the Champion Edition features Marco Wittmann’s autograph on the door sill plates and carbon interior trim strips with “DTM Champion 2014” lettering and the car’s serial number.

Besides the car, BMW had two more surprises for Marco Wittmann: the renewal of his DTM contract for next year and beyond, plus the opportunity to achieve a childhood dream and complete a Formula One test for the Scuderia Toro Rosso team. Not bad for an employer, don’t you think?
