Two things caught our eye with this 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo ad on eBay, the first being the exuberant starting auction price of $60,000 and the second that it’s one of a couple hundred cars made in Canada.
In regards to the first point, there’s no surprise there, as prices for the fourth-gen Supra have gone through the roof over the past few years, though, that doesn’t mean that the seller will actually get what he’s asking for, especially since this is an automatic model with 89,000 kilometers (about 60,000 miles).
Plus, don’t forget that 60k can easily get you into a much younger NSX from the 2000s, if it’s Japanese sports cars that you’re interested in…
The second part is actually interesting as the seller claims this Supra “is Canadian, which makes the car a rare collectible since nearly 200 were produced in Canada from 1993 to 1997”.
Our internet scouring-robots suggest that Toyota did manufacture some Mk4 Supras in Canada, though, the production numbers quoted differ among various sources.
The Supra’s VIN (JT2JA82J2R0010654 – the 11th digit means it was built at a Japanese factory) plate with the “Made in Japan” inscription seem to disagree with the seller’s Canada-made claim – if that adds any worth to the car.
