Ford has announced that we’ll get our first official look at the redesigned 2016 Explorer at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19. The revamped mid-size SUV will go on sale in the first half of next year.
“The innovative 2016 Ford Explorer will reach showrooms with a new look, added capability and additional driver-assist technology,” Ford said in a statement without disclosing any further details.
From recent prototype sightings, we know that the latest version of the mid-size SUV will get a redesigned front end with wider headlamps and a smaller grille along with some changes to the rear.
Sources indicate that Ford will introduce a revised 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine with more power and better fuel-economy that will be offered for the first time with AWD as an option, and possibly, a 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost.
