Check out these new renderings that attempt to interpret the spirit of the next Audi A4 sedan’s design.
You’ll be excused for not seeing much of a difference, be that because the author, Photoshop manipulator Remco Meulendijk, used the current model simply tweaking the front and rear designs while also pinching the beltline and adding new wheels, or simply due to the fact that Audi’s styling has hit an evolutionary dead-end.
Regarding the latter, Audi has pretty much limited its design innovation to incremental improvements passed on from one model series to another over the past decade or so.
Apparently, Audi officials caught a whiff of the discontent and plan to show something truly new with an as of yet unnamed concept car at the LA Show next month, that will allegedly give birth to a new styling direction.
Whether the next A4, codenamed B9 and expected to be unleashed in the second half of 2015, will be the first production car to adopt this fresh design language that is the brainchild of Audi’s new design boss Marc Lichte, remains to be seen.
