In a market that loves diesel-powered SUVs, Jeep’s V8-powered Grand Cherokee SRT may be an oddity, but it still fills a special niche.
At the Paris Auto Show, Jeep hosted the world premiere of a slightly more special version of its performance SUV, the Red Vapor limited edition.
On the outside, the package adds gloss black badges, grille and trim, dark chrome 20-inch wheels, and smoked lights, with buyers having three color options for the body, Redline Pearl Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat or Bright White Clear Coat.
Interior enhancements include specific Laguna leather upholstery in Black with central insert in Radar Red suede, standard 8.4-inch touchscreen with integrated 3D navigation, carbon fiber décor, a leather-upholstered T-shaped knob for the automatic transmission, and a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
While the improved 6.4-liter V8 of the regular 2015MY Grand Cherokee SRT with 475 ponies and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque remains unchanged, Jeep added a Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system that “carries” the engine sound into the cabin.
