This ladies and gents, is the real Lamborghini Asterion LPI910-4 Concept car that has been released just ahead of it Paris Motor Show World premiere.
Lamborghini’s first ever petrol-electric hybrid model was developed in-house (with the help of the VW Group, of course) and it sports a new powertrain linking the brand’s 5.2-liter V10 engine with 602hp (610PS) driving the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission to thee electric motors producing a combined 296hp (300PS).
One of the electric motors is housed within the transmission and can turn the rear wheels, while the other two are positioned on the front axle driving the front wheels. A lithium ion battery is mounted within the tunnel.
The Italians quote a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 199mph (320km/h) with a combined fuel economy of 4.2l/100km or 67mpg UK / 55.8 mpg US.
We’ll bring you more information of the strictly two-seater model as it comes in.
