It’s been nearly seven years since Toyota revealed its Aygo Crazy, which basically had the posterior part of an MR2 welded onto a city car front. The MR2 engine was turbocharged to make 200 hp and an intoxicating wastegate noise too…
Toyota has kept the car unaltered since then, and now it’s been driven (and thoroughly enjoyed) by CarThrottle. With unassisted steering and brakes, racing harnesses and stiff suspension, it’s a very different experience to driving a regular Aygo.
There’s little in the way of soundproofing, and since there’s no firewall between the passenger compartment and engine, you really can hear it.
It’s a really mad way to make an Aygo more exciting and the name Crazy perfectly suits it. However, such a conversion would probably be hugely expensive to undertake on your own, though if you find the right two (damaged) cars, maybe you can work something out…
