Racing games are becoming desperately pretty things to look at these days, with ever increasing model details and ever more realistic textures and effects.
We’re not yet at the point where it’s genuinely hard to tell what is real and what isn’t, but judging by the quality of the Project CARS video posted below, the day is not far off.
The uploader calls the treatment “Real Cam Effect.” By that he means maxing out the graphics fidelity settings, using a realistic-looking onboard camera, then adding filters, flashes and spots on the lens to enhance the effect.
The car/track combo chosen to illustrate how nice that looks is the turbocharged Lotus 98T F1 car driven around a dank, foggy Nurburgring Nordschleife.
