It’s a tad strange that the biggest talking point surrounding the new Ford Mustang, the adoption of a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine, is not its defining feature.
In fact, it’s actually the smoothness and comfort gained through an independent suspension setup coupled to the upped interior quality and practicality that are on the lips of every reviewer.
Brian Cooley of CNET sees it pretty much the same way. After one day with a Mustang turbo automatic, it was not the engine that made a lasting impression, even though it’s said to be a good, strong and suitable unit.
He also highlights the Mustang’s styling, which he thinks will withstand the test of time and look good 10 – 15 years from now.
Naturally, being a CNET review, there’s a lot of focus on the onboard tech. The biggest news for the Mustang is the adoption of Sync, as Ford’s proprietary infotainment system had previously been off-limits.
