If you’re into big sedans that offer space and quality above all else, then you should get excited for the upcoming Skoda Superb.
Not only is it going to (hopefully) draw its styling inspiration from the stylish Vision C concept, but it will also be underpinned by the same version of the MQB platform as recently unveiled VW Passat.
At least that is what a new report by CarAdvice is saying, quoting an unnamed source from inside Skoda. The platform itself is, as previously stated, still a variation of the MQB architecture, but its high modularity (and Passat roots) point to it being wider and longer than that of the current car.
The 3.6-liter V6 engine will also be phased out, replaced by a comparable turbocharged four. Chances are it will also receive the 240 PS 2.0-liter TDI, which should make it an enticing performance diesel buy.
The final bit of news here is that the next Superb is expected to debut at the Geneva motor show in 2015, with sales expected to begin later in the year. Worth noting is the fact that while the car offers superior levels of space inside, compared to the Passat, it will, as is currently the case, undercut it in terms of pricing.
