If we could have our say, we would put the Peugeot Quartz Concept in production as is – Lamborghini air inlets and all. But we don’t, so it will just serve as a reminder in a few years’ time of how cool the French firm’s next 308-based SUV could have been.
Like the Exalt, the Quartz concept is designed to showcase Peugeot’s styling vision for its next generation of vehicles.
The dramatic-looking three-door SUV measures 4,500mm long and 2,060mm wide making it bigger than your usual compact model like the Nissan Quashqai, and it rides on huge 23-inch wheels.
On the inside, it has a driver-orientated cockpit with a clean design that uses the steering wheel to host all sorts of controls, from the indicators to the driving modes and gear selectors.
A 270PS 1.6-liter THP power plant works together with two electric motors (one driving the front wheels and the other the rear) to produce 500-horses. The plug-in hybrid concept can be driven for up to 30 miles (48km) on battery power.
