No, we we’re not the ones who mixed up Subaru and Porsche monikers; it’s the creative minds behind this 914 WRX we found listed for sale.
It’s a heavily customized version of Porsche’s or VW-Porsche’s (since it was a collaborative effort) 914 from 1974 that had its 84hp (85PS) 1.8-liter flat-four engine replaced with something a little more powerful, a 225hp 2.0-liter flat-four turbo from a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX.
The boxer lump drives the rear wheels through a five-speed manual.
The car was essentially gutted out and rebuilt from scratch featuring a “Lamborghini Verde Ithaca Mic 2CT” paint color, wider 914-6 GT steel flares, new suspension, redone interior with Corbeau bucket seats, and many more updates and upgrades.
The eBay seller says the car has been driven less than 2,000 miles (about 3,200km) since it was rebuilt and is asking for $40,000.
So, what’s your assessment – thumbs up or thumbs down?
