Despite the proliferation of real and synthetic leather on higher-spec and premium cars, most base and mid-level mainstream models continue to be offered with cloth seats.
While leather may fade, crack and dry out, it’s a whole lot easier to clean and rejuvenate (depending on the condition and the age) than cloth covered surfaces, especially with seats, as you have to be extra careful to not allow moisture to seep into the foam.
