Only a year after it came back to life with the re-launch of the Jaguar D-type-inspired ‘Knobbly’, Lister has plans to build a new “hypercar” with which it hopes to return to Asian and North American markets.
For now, the car exists only on paper as Lister has only released a few sketches of a conceptual model, stating that it’s looking for investors to get the project started.
“Over the coming years our ambitions are to create a world beating brand new Hypercar with a list price of somewhere in the region of £2million [$3.2 million or €2.5 million],” said Lawrence Whittaker, Managing Director of Lister Cars.
“We are currently seeking external investors that have the desire to join us on what promises to be an incredible journey, because if we proceed with our ambitious plans, it is fundamental that the entire project is sufficiently resourced in order to deliver a serious, world-beating new product,” he added.
The UK sports car maker said it’s also exploring the development of another, more affordable sports car, without divulging any further details.
Over the past 12 months, Lister sold nine examples of its limited run £350,000 ($444,000) ‘Knobbly’ anniversary cars.
