Almost three years ago, Ford unveiled the Fusion sedan in the United States, with the model expected to arrive in Europe badged as Mondeo a few months later.
Because Ford had to close its Belgium plant, those months became years, and the all-new Mondeo arrived in European dealerships in October 2014. So, was it worth the long wait?
While the exterior design is clearly an improvement over the previous model, some could say it’s a bit dated already, considering that the Fusion debuted it almost three years ago.
Having said that, the interior is seen as a massive improvement by Auto Express, with the reviewer noticing the better quality materials and the improved ergonomics, even compared to the US-market Fusion. But what is the Mondeo like to drive?
Oliver Kew drove the 180PS 2.0-liter diesel version and praised its silent and refined running, although the response didn’t quite convince him. As for the handling, he said the Mondeo is not best-in-class anymore.
