Rolls Royce is a brand built on tradition, but that’s no reason to let it get stale like it did in the 1980s and 1990s.
This is something that the BMW Group is fully aware of and has modernized Rolls Royce from top to bottom, all while keeping true to the firm’s historic values.
But what if someone were to break Rolls Royce from most of its traditions, what would such a car be and look like?
That’s what transportation designer Aldo Schurmann is exploring here with his Phantasm Concept renders. It’s a study for an dynamic Grand Tourer coupe of the sort you’d expect to wear an Italian automaker’s badges.
But that’s the problem I see with this study, because with the exception of the front end design and the leather wrap-around belt on the fenders, this looks too much like a Pininfarina-penned project for Ferrari or Maserati.
What do you say?
