Star Trek made William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy super-famous, though not necessarily by their real names.
Many people (who don’t like reading the end credits) simply know them as Kirk and Spock, and apparently the two make for a great VW green-minded ad for the new e-Golf.
Shot in the States (in a distinctly American, upper-middle class suburb) but destined for German TV, the ad is straightforward, putting Captain Kirk at the wheel of the e-Golf, meeting Mr. Spock who’s driving the XL1. All of it is set to the familiar Star Trek soundtrack.
The ad itself is a suitable way to promote the e-Golf, though, it’s not really any more advanced than any other similar hybrids out there.
