A BBC news crew’s van came under attack at the Turkey-Syria border while reporting on the Islamic State’s siege of a nearby town and it was all caught on camera.
BBC correspondent Paul Adams had just finished filming his report when the Turkish police made their appearance.
“The Turkish authorities are absolutely determined to clear this whole area,” we hear Adams saying in the video, just before the attack. “They’ve evacuated civilians from two villages very close to the border, and as you can see, they’re firing tear gas in an attempt to get everyone else to leave”.
Apparently, the reporter didn’t get that “everyone” meant “everyone”, himself and his team included, because, literally a few seconds later, the Turkish police started firing tear gas towards their vehicle!
The BBC said that no one was injured in the incident
Something tells us that these guys won’t be getting back that rental-car security deposit…
