The latest Subaru WRX STI has not only grown in size, but also grown up in the way it feels/sounds. Reviews say it’s smoother, more refined than before, though some may have preferred the rowdier nature of its predecessor(s).
Pitted against a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X, Everyday Driver asks if the latest car is a worthy opponent or if a 2010 model year WRX (hatch) is a better match.
The EVO is practically unchanged – it’s the same tenth generation car that you’ve known since 2007. It is, apparently, the last of its kind from Mitsubishi, so the video posted below does have substance – a successor, an EVO XI, may have looked like this…
As of 2015, the WRX (and STI) will probably soldier on solo, with no more arch-rival to speak of. However, some other cars may step up to the challenge and fill the gap that will be left by the soon to be phased out EVO.
