A 2003 Ferrari Enzo with only 2,215 miles (3,565 km) on the odometer for a little under $400,000 sounds like an incredible deal. But it isn’t quite like that. This is a crashed Ferrari Enzo, and the $376,000 price is not the final price but the current bid on auction site Crashed Toyz.
Located in East Bethel, Minneapolis (Minnesota), the vehicle will be offered in an online auction on November 18, 2014 at 2 pm CST. The car is supplied by an insurance company and the story goes that it sustained right side and rear damage in a single car accident. Sold on a New Jersey salvage title, the red Enzo has a long list of damages.
The carbon fiber engine tub is damaged in two places with two small cracks above and forward of the control arms, a minor oil leak comes from the drain plug, the rear engine bonnet is damaged but the glass is intact, the lower carbon fiber air diffuser is cracked and scraped, the passenger side door functions normally but is cracked along the bottom and there appears to be damage to the right front tire rod and control arms.
Want more? The drive axle is damaged, both airbags and seatbelts were deployed and the passenger seat is slightly twisted. Good news is the engine starts and runs, while the transmission “appears” to be intact and is not leaking. The vehicle comes with a single red Ferrari key along with the factory three-piece leather tool kits.
As we’re talking about a very rare and expensive car, the repairs necessary to bring it back on the road will most likely cost six-figure sums. It may be worth it though, considering that the average transaction price for a good 2003 model is €945,000 ($1.17 million) according to JamesEdition.
