The Hyundai Elantra is a car that up until a few years ago, you did not give a second look to. It’s been around for 24 years and only recently became more noticeable being part of Hyundai’s plan to improve its image by making its cars look and feel better.
Now, the Korean automaker has announced the sale of its 10 millionth Elantra, proving the model’s resilience and popularity.
The manufacturer says that crunching the numbers, it all equates to 420,000 examples being sold on average each year, or 1,100 every day…
The US-spec model won the coveted North American Car of the Year award two years ago and more recently it was apparently ranked highest in its segment in the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Initial Quality Stud (IQS). It was also awarded the ALG Residual Value Award in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
