Land Rover’s newly created Special Vehicle Operations has partnered up with Holland&Holland to create what they call “the most luxurious SUV ever.” It has, in true Holland&Holland tradition, and among other unusual features like engraved metallic bits inside, a gun rack in the back – the firm is known for its bespoke vintage-looking weapons.
The model in question is based on the already high spec Range Rover Autobiography Black and there will be no more than 120 examples built, at a rate of 40 per year.
Buyers won’t be limited to a single powertrain choice, so anything from the V6 diesel to the supercharged V8 petrol can be specified.
The interior “has been tailored to accommodate the lifestyle pursuits of Holland & Holland’s customers. The Executive Class seating package in the long wheelbase car makes the most of the additional 186mm (7.3 inches) of legroom and 17 degrees recline available to the rear seat passengers.” Glance at the center console and you’ll notice it’s different too, and it now even features electrically deployable walnut tables, “enhanced stowage and bespoke lighting.”
Unique materials also replace those used in the regular range, including bespoke leathers which get the Holland&Holland logo embroidered. There’s also walnut veneer (that comes from a sustainable French source) which has been “subtly polished to resemble the oil-finished gunstocks.”
The main feature is, of course, the gun rack in the boot. It’s more of a cabinet, really, and features a leather-trimmed exterior and Alcantara clad interior. It’s not fixed in place, though, and can be removed to maximize payload capacity.
The Holland&Holland Range Rover will be priced at around £180,000 or $287,000 / €230,000.
