At the Essen Motor Show 2014 (Nov 29 to Dec 12), BMW will officially debut its line of M Performance parts for the X4 and the X3 facelift.
We caught a glimpse of the X4 fitted with M Performance parts during the presentation of the crossover back in May, but BMW is now ready to launch the full lineup that covers both the cosmetic and mechanical aspects of the X4 as well as the X3, though, the Bavarians have not yet released pictures of the latter.
Available exterior styling components for both SUVs include a black kidney grille, carbon fiber mirrors and spoiler (only X4), M Performance racing stripes and 21-inch alloy wheels in a staggered set-up.
For the inside, BMW M offers LED door sill plates, carbon fiber or Alcantara trims, carbon fiber gearshift lever, Alcantara sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, and floor mats.
A new M Performance power kit has been developed for the X3 and X4 xDrive30d 3.0-liter straight-six diesel that raises output by 27hp to 282hp (286PS) and peak torque to 600Nm (442 lb-ft). The boost helps shave 0.3 seconds off their 0-100km/h (62mph) times, with the X3 completing the sprint in 5.6 seconds and the X4 in 5.5 seconds. Despite the power increase, both SUVs match the fuel consumption and emissions values of the standard models.
There’s also a new sports exhaust system with four pipes for the X4 xDrive35i, and twin pipes on the X4 xDrive20d, X3 sDrive18d and X3 xDrive20d.
