Subtlety seems to be the approach X-Tomi thinks Mazda will have when creating the Mazda2 MPS. His interpretation (the second one he’s released) shows a light aggressive makeover that only slightly alters the already quite sporty profile of the regular 2.
It’s not bad by any means, and would make for a car you’d consider buying in this class, but we hope that when/if Mazda actually makes this, they go down the more extreme route.
As for its power plant, Mazda doesn’t yet have an engine really suitable for a supermini hot hatch, but there’s no reason why it couldn’t strap a turbo onto its 1.5-liter petrol.
Visual modifications featured in the rendering include larger wheels, sportier bumpers and a dual-tip exhaust. However, it could have been more extreme, and this looks like the kind of car that could pull of a moderately-sized spoiler too…
Check it out in the gallery below and tell us if you think it should be more extreme.
