The all-new Mazda MX-5 was generally received quite well by both owners/fans of previous models and the scene as a whole.

Its design, the source of some controversy in the case of its predecessor, has been sorted out, as has the interior; it’s also lighter and smaller than before.

WhatCar? readers had a chance to prod around the new MX-5, though they were not allowed to drive it. Some of those invited were owners of previous incarnations, while others were solely interested in buying the new model.

The overall impression is a very positive one, and only comments about its lower ride height and how this might be a hindrance when going over speed humps. Aside from that, you have to pay close attention to the video posted below to catch a whiff of negativity…
