In its latest generation incarnation, the Subaru WRX STi has grown and grown up, though you still can’t mistake it for anything else.
That on top of the qualities you’ve come to expect from an STi, its only problem being that the game has moved on a lot since it was first launched, and you’ve got a lot of choice for the same money…
CarThrottle took it out for a spin, praising it for its extremely surefooted drive, oodles of pulling power and the (still) recognizable look. Plus, you can’t not like the fact that its hood intake is functional, as is everything else that marks it out as a sporty rally-bred machine.
It’s just that the engine sounds extremely dull and the interior, while better than before, is still far behind that of most other cars you can buy for the same money or even a lot less in some cases.
If you’ve always been a fan of the formula, there’s still nothing to beat it, but just know what to expect so as to not be disappointed.
