One of Steve McQueen’s personal cars, the stunning 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 fetched $10 million this summer at an auction.
While we’re not sure how much of the sales price was due to its famous owner, the mysterious buyer it’s arguably one of the best looking Ferraris of all time.
But the pristine-looking 275 GTB/4 didn’t have it easy for all its life. Bought by Steve McQueen while he was shooting Bullitt to replace a totaled 275 GTB/4 NART Spider, the Ferrari was well taken care of by the actor. But one of the car’s subsequent owners did not care much for the vehicle and decided the best thing he could do was cut the roof off and paint it yellow.
Fortunately, the car was sent over to Ferrari Classiche in Italy by the previous owner and the 275 GTB/4 was brought back to the condition it was in when McQueen owned it.
