A number of motorists recorded a mysterious bright orange flash that lit up the sky in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region in the Urals on November 14 on their dash-cams.

The glow lasted for about 15 seconds turning the dark evening sky into day. There’s still no official explanation on what happened, but there’s plenty of speculation on the web, ranging from meteorites to military exercises and, of course, UFOs.

For what it’s worth, military officials have denied that they were behind the mystery, with a press spokesman telling E1.ru: “No exercise and training were underway on that day, and no military units are based in the region, so we have nothing to do with it.”
