Audi’s first mainstream fully electric vehicle will most likely be a crossover. It’s therefor safe to assume it could be a Tesla Model X rival, even thought it’s still quite early in its development process to be completely sure.
The only bit of information on the matter came courtesy of Audi CEO Ruper Stadler, who confirmed that their “engineers are working” on the project and that “it’s probably going to be a crossover, but development work is still ongoing.”
We don’t know if this is the same model or different to one hinted at last month by Audi’s technical chief, Ulrich Hackenberg, which we speculated could be a sedan. He also confirmed the brand was working on an EV which was set to arrive in 2017, although he didn’t mention said vehicle’s body style.
Oh and he also revealed that it was going to have a range of 450 km or ~280 miles.
