Following his departure from /Drive, Chris Harris has set up his own YouTube channel and started uploading reviews that were previously available only to /Drive’s paying subscribers.
One of the first reviews he uploaded is of the BMW M3, which made quite an impression on Harris. He says the steering is much better than on the E92 and the engine is a lot more capable, thanks to the massive 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque available from just 1,850 rpm.
However, the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine makes some odd noises, with Harris describing them as similar to the 335d of the previous generation – not quite what one would expect from an M3. However, as time went on Harris says he became accustomed to the noise and started to like it.
The reviewer drove the BMW M3 on fine Portuguese roads and on the Portimao circuit and had only good things to say about the M3’s handling and performance. To showcase the perfect balance of the car, Harris initiates a long powersliding session at the end of the video which I’m sure you’ll like to watch.
